What software do most accountants use?+
Most small-business accountants work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, plus tax and practice-management software; our guide to CPA tools sorts a small firm’s stack by job. ZeraBooks is for accountants who want AI to do the routine bookkeeping for every client in one ledger, with each month proven against the bank statement.
What can AI do for accountants today?+
The reliable uses are the repetitive ones: reading bank and card statements, categorizing transactions from a client’s past decisions, matching payments to bills and invoices, reconciling to the statement and drafting recurring entries such as depreciation. In ZeraBooks the AI makes those calls and the ledger does every calculation, so no figure in a client report comes from AI arithmetic. Anything it isn’t sure about comes to you as a question.
Will AI replace CPAs and accountants?+
AI is taking over routine bookkeeping such as categorizing, matching and drafting entries. Judgment, sign-off, tax and advice still need an accountant. ZeraBooks is built around that split: the AI asks instead of guessing and every action can be undone.
Why do some CPAs prefer alternatives to QuickBooks Online?+
Common reasons include per-plan feature limits, per-client costs and time spent fixing bank-feed categorization. ZeraBooks has one plan with every feature, 3 clients included, and AI that categorizes from each client’s reviewed history. More on ZeraBooks as a QuickBooks alternative.
Is there a per-client fee?+
One subscription at $79 a month billed annually or $149 monthly includes 3 active clients. Each additional active client is $29 a month, or $290 a year on annual billing. Archived clients and your own books don’t count. See ZeraBooks pricing.
Can my clients log in?+
No. A ZeraBooks account is for one person, with no client logins or team roles. You share results by publishing or emailing reports and statements.
Can I bring clients over from QuickBooks or Xero?+
Yes. For each client, upload the trial balance and unpaid invoice and bill reports from the old software as of the closing date, and ZeraBooks builds the opening books.
Can ZeraBooks help with a proof of cash?+
Yes, on the bank side. Every statement is proven against its printed opening and closing balances, and the Money in and out download gives receipts and disbursements per month. Our proof of cash guide has a four-column example that ties and a CSV template.
