WHAT DOCYT IS NOW

What is Docyt?

Docyt calls itself an AI-native ERP. Its own site leads with hotels and hotel management companies, and also names restaurants, retailers and franchises. It has its own multi-entity general ledger, connects to bank feeds and to hotel systems such as property management and point-of-sale software, and lets customers who want to keep QuickBooks Online for statutory reporting sync to it.

Docyt doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page lists four tiers named for kinds of hotel, from Economy for motels to Management companies for portfolios, and says the price depends on the size and type of each property and the modules you choose. Plans are annual and billed per property per month, not per seat. Docyt says it usually sends a quote within one business day.

That is a good fit for what it was built for. People searching for a Docyt alternative are often somewhere else: a single business, a few locations, or a bookkeeping firm with many small clients, who want to see the price and start the same day.

Try it on your own documents. One-week free trial, both apps included.

A MONTH IN ZERABOOKS

What does a month of AI bookkeeping look like in ZeraBooks?

One message to Ask Zera with a month of statements: it imports them, categorizes from your reviewed history, asks about anything it can’t tell, reconciles each account and closes the month once it ties. The ledger does every calculation; the AI only makes the judgment calls, and each one can be undone.

Ask Zera: one message, and the month is done.

A statement that ties, $0.00 difference

A statement that ties: deposits, withdrawals and net agree between the statement and the ledger with a $0.00 difference.

Every account, every month, at a glance

The Reconciliations timeline: one row per account and one dot per month, showing months that tie, months that need a look, coverage gaps and finalized months.

WHY ZERABOOKS

Why choose ZeraBooks over Docyt?

PROVEN BOOKS

A month closes only when it ties.

ZeraBooks works from the statement itself. It must add up to the printed opening and closing balance, follow last month’s statement and agree with the ledger to the cent before you can sign the month off. How that works is on bank reconciliation software.

A month that doesn’t tie: deposits, withdrawals and net compared between the statement and the ledger, with the difference shown.

ASK ZERA

A bookkeeper you talk to.

Ask for a report, a fix or six months of catch-up in plain words. Ask Zera uses the same tools and checks as the app, keeps a receipt for every change and can undo it.

Autopilot: what the AI did, one-tap questions, undo.

ONE PRICE

Everything in one plan.

The general ledger, Autopilot, Ask Zera, bills, invoices, reconciliations, reports and the document converter, for $79 a month billed annually. See ZeraBooks pricing.

OR WE DO IT

Bookkeeping done for you.

Our team keeps the books on the same ledger from $150 a month in U.S. dollars, and you get a read-only login to watch the work. See bookkeeping services. Firms get custom builds at no charge; see ZeraBooks for accounting firms.

HONEST LIMITS

What doesn’t ZeraBooks do that Docyt does?

Worth knowing before you choose.

  • No bank feeds

ZeraBooks never connects to your bank. You upload bank and card statements, PDF or CSV, and each one is proven against its printed balances.

  • No hotel system integrations

There is no property management or point-of-sale connection. Sales reach the books through the deposits on your bank statements.

  • No QuickBooks or Xero sync

ZeraBooks is the ledger. You move your books over with a closing trial balance; it doesn’t sync to another ledger.

  • No bill pay or corporate cards

ZeraBooks records bills, matches them to the bank payment that settled them and sends invoice reminders. It doesn’t send money.

  • One currency per company

Each company keeps its books in one currency, USD, CAD or EUR. Several businesses means several companies, each with its own reports.

MOVING OVER

How do you move your books to ZeraBooks?

You bring closing balances, not every old transaction. Keep the old system read-only for history.

  1. 1

    Pick a closing date

The last date your current books are reconciled and reliable. ZeraBooks starts the day after.

  2. 2

Export the trial balance and open items

A trial balance at that date, plus unpaid invoices and bills. The reports to pull are in export your closing reports.

  3. 3

    Upload them

ZeraBooks builds your categories from the trial balance for you to confirm and lists the open invoices and bills.

  4. 4

    Hand off each bank account

Upload the last statement on or before the closing date for each account, then statements from the start date on. Ask Zera can take it from there.

Opening books stages: closing reports, categories, bank statements and review.
