Everything we've shipped.
From a PDF converter in January 2025 to a full AI native general ledger today. The story of Zera Books, in shipping order.
The arc
The journey, honestly.
We started in January 2025 as ConvertMyStatements. One product, one promise. Turn a PDF bank statement into something usable. Customers kept asking for more. So we kept building.
Fifteen months later, the converter is still here, still free of templates, still 99.6% accurate. But it's now part of something bigger. In April 2026 we became Zera Books, an AI native general ledger. Bank statements come in, journal entries come out, reports build themselves, the books close.
Below is everything we've shipped, in the order it actually shipped. No version numbers. No fluff. Just the milestones.
By the numbers
Shipping velocity.
Each bar is the work shipped that month. We don't slow down.
Built into a full general ledger in 9 months.
April 2026
Zera AI becomes a full general ledger
Bank statements come in, journal entries post automatically, reports build live from the ledger, and the books close.
- Chart of accounts with QuickBooks and Xero mappings
- AI categorization and journal entry posting
- Nine reports with a built-in month-end close workflow
- AP, AR, recurring transactions, depreciation, multi-entity
AI reconciliation and two-way QuickBooks sync
Match bank lines to journal entries with AI suggestions, and keep Zera in sync with the QuickBooks file your client already uses.
A dashboard tied to your books
Revenue, expenses, and cash on the home screen now read from your live ledger, refreshed in real time.
March 2026
A free week with no card required
Sign up and use the full product for seven days. Nothing on file unless you continue at the end of the week.
- No card required to start
- Full product access for seven days
- No surprise charges or auto-billed first month
Batches that survive a refresh
Close the tab or restart your machine. Batch jobs continue on the server and resume where they left off when you return.
Per-batch tracking and history
Every batch has its own ID, status page, and downloadable history. Multiple batches run side by side without crossed wires.
Live processing feedback
Files show a queued state the moment they upload, with progress through OCR, parsing, and export.
February 2026
Moved onto our own infrastructure
Migrated off shared serverless hosting onto dedicated servers with a global edge cache.
- Dedicated servers, no cold starts
- Global edge cache across every route
- Predictable performance under load
Higher-throughput batch engine
A new concurrency pool runs up to ten files in parallel and routes oversized PDFs to a dedicated long-context path.
Investment statement support
Brokerage and retirement statements convert with full export options, including position-level detail.
Redesigned conversions dashboard
Switch between grid and list views, drag files across folders, and find prior conversions through full-text search.
January 2026
A cleaner first ten minutes
New onboarding walks every signup from account creation to a first successful conversion along a single path.
Sub-second page loads across the site
A focused performance pass: lazy-loaded media below the fold, deferred third-party scripts, and trimmed legacy code.
December 2025
ConvertMyStatements becomes Zera Books
Same team and same product, with a new name and home at zerabooks.com that fits where the platform is heading.
- New name, new domain, full visual rebrand
- All previous links redirect to the new home
- Accounts, subscriptions, and conversions carry over untouched
AI transaction categorization
Zera AI assigns a category to every transaction in a converted statement and learns from each correction.
- One-click categorization across the full statement
- Vendor-level learning from your corrections
- Customizable category groups
Check converter
Photos and scans of paper checks are now read alongside statements, invoices, and receipts.
- Reads payee, amount, date, memo, and routing
- Works on phone photos and scanned images
- Handles handwritten and printed checks
Invoice and receipt converter
Upload an invoice or receipt and export a clean bill row ready for the books.
November 2025
A proper free trial flow
Replaced the coupon-based trial with a dedicated trial state, route protection, and a clean upgrade path.
Auto-save with a manual save-all
Edits in the results grid auto-save on cell exit, with a save-all action when you want to commit a batch of changes.
Realtime results and an inline PDF viewer
Conversions push results to the screen the moment they finish, with the source PDF rendered alongside for spot-checking.
Batch conversion
Drop a folder of statements and get a folder back, with per-file progress and combined export options.
October 2025
Multi-account PDFs split automatically
Combined statements with checking, savings, and credit cards in a single PDF now split into clean per-account exports.
- Detects multiple accounts in a single PDF
- Splits into per-account exports automatically
- Preserves opening and ending balances per account
Stricter accuracy guardrails on Zera AI
New extraction rules force the model to skip unreadable rows rather than infer values, eliminating fabricated transactions.
Date format on export
Choose US, EU, or ISO date format at download. The export matches whatever your accountant or software expects.
Full mobile experience
Every dashboard view and marketing page reflowed and tested on small screens.
September 2025
