The arc
We started in January 2025 with one promise: turn a PDF bank statement into something you can use. Customers kept asking for the next step, so we kept building.
Today the core of ZeraBooks is an AI-native general ledger that reconciles every statement against the bank. The Converter is still here for people who only need the data. And if you would rather not touch the books at all, our team will keep them for you.

Reconciliations shows one verdict per month, and you can upload a missing statement right from an empty month on the timeline.
You can now run your invoicing inside ZeraBooks. Create an invoice or upload one you already sent, then follow it on one board until it is paid.

Upload a PDF or photo of a vendor bill and ZeraBooks fills in the vendor, number, dates, lines and categories, then matches it to its payment on your statement.
Every vendor and customer now has a page showing what is still owed. A/R and A/P aging came in the same release.
ZeraBooks checks every account, month by month, against the bank's own statement, and when a month does not tie, it re-reads the original document and proposes only the fixes that make it tie.
Categorizing a transaction posts it. The Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Trial Balance are built from the ledger the moment anything changes.
Upload bank and card statements and every transaction is read, checked against the statement and categorized to your chart of accounts, with your corrections applied to similar lines.

PDFs of written checks convert to a spreadsheet with check number, date, payee, memo and amount.
Every invoice in a PDF is read line by line, with the vendor, dates, line items and totals ready for a spreadsheet or a bill import.
Excel downloads now come with sensible column widths and real number formats, so there is nothing to tidy.
Spot a misread amount? Fix it in the results before you download, and the edit stays with the statement.

Drop a stack of statements and each one is read on its own, with results appearing the moment each finishes.
The app and the website were reflowed and tested on small screens.
Deposits and withdrawals are told apart reliably, and lines that are not transactions, such as subtotals, are left out.
