Fifth Third bank statement to Excel, two years online, every month proven.
To convert a Fifth Third bank statement to Excel, download the PDF from Documents in Fifth Third online banking or the Statements tab in the app, upload it to the ZeraBooks bank statement converter and download Excel or CSV. Fifth Third keeps 24 months online, so save older months early; ZeraBooks proves each one against its printed balances.
How do you download a Fifth Third bank statement as a PDF?
Fifth Third keeps statements in Documents on the website and under the Statements tab in its 53 Mobile Banking app. General tips are in Download statements from any other bank.
1
Sign in to Fifth Third online banking
On a computer is easiest for a batch. Commercial clients on Fifth Third Direct use that site’s own statement area.
2
Open Documents
In the app, tap the Statements tab instead.
3
Choose the account and the month
Fifth Third says 24 months of account history are available. Anything older has to come from the bank.
4
Download the PDF
Save every month you will need while it is still inside the window. A transaction export doesn’t carry the beginning and ending balance.
Try it on your own documents. One-week free trial, both apps included.
Many big banks keep about seven years online. Fifth Third keeps two. Here is a fictional repair shop in November 2026 whose books need to start in January 2024:

ZeraBooks Convert
Upload together; each is proven, then checked against the next
Each statement is proven on its own beginning and ending balance. When you line them up, the ending balance of one month should be the beginning balance of the next; a break means a missing month. Combine bank statements shows that check in Excel.
HOW FIFTH THIRD LAYS IT OUT
How is a Fifth Third bank statement laid out?
A Fifth Third business checking statement typically leads with an account summary, lists the activity by kind, and ends with a page of daily balances.
Part of the statement
What it holds
In the converted file
Account Summary
Beginning balance, totals for deposits, checks and other withdrawals, ending balance
Used for the proof, not rows
Deposits and credits
Deposits, ACH and card settlement credits
Rows, Type Deposit, positive
Checks
Check number, date paid and amount
Rows, Type Check, negative
Withdrawals and debits
Card purchases, ACH debits, fees and transfers out
Rows, Type Withdrawal or Fee, negative
Daily Balance Summary
The balance on each day with activity, on its own page
Not rows
Section names differ between account types and over the years, so read this as the usual shape. ZeraBooks Convert takes the layout from each statement, so a 2024 statement and a 2026 statement in different formats both convert and both prove.
WORKED EXAMPLE
What does a converted Fifth Third statement look like?
Riverbend Auto Repair is the fictional shop above, with Fifth Third business checking ending 8815. July 2026, in the Money in and out format with the empty Balance column left off:
Date
Description
Money In
Money Out
07/01/2026
Deposit
5,410.00
07/03/2026
ACH Debit, NAPA Auto Parts
2,214.66
07/09/2026
Check 4407
1,875.00
07/15/2026
ACH Credit, Square
2,987.35
07/21/2026
Debit Card, Snap-on Tools
640.12
07/31/2026
Monthly Service Charge
95.00
Totals, ending at 6,779.28
8,397.35
4,824.78
The proof: 3,206.71 + 8,397.35 − 1,875.00 − 2,949.78 = 6,779.28, the ending balance Fifth Third printed. The Balance column stays empty because the balances are on the Daily Balance Summary page, not beside each line, and ZeraBooks never fills in a figure the statement doesn’t print next to the row.
WHAT GOES WRONG
Why does copying a Fifth Third statement into Excel go wrong?
The window is the first trap. The layout is the second.
Months fall out of the window
Wait too long and the oldest statements are gone from Documents. A catch-up started late needs a request to the bank for each month.
Activity split by kind
Checks and withdrawals sit in separate lists from deposits. Pasted, the rows aren’t in date order.
No signs on the amounts
Money out prints as a plain number under its heading. One column of them adds up to the wrong answer.
The daily balance page
A page of dates and balances that looks like transactions. Copy it and the sheet has a second, fake month in it.
AFTER THE FILE
Where does a Fifth Third spreadsheet go next?
A CATCH-UP
Two years of statements into books.
Upload the whole run to the ZeraBooks General Ledger instead and Ask Zera imports each month and reconciles it to the statement; see AI bookkeeping. Prefer to hand it over? Our bookkeeping services team does catch-ups too, quoted on their own.
FILES
Excel or CSV, in the format you import.
Standard, Money in and out, QuickBooks-ready, Xero-ready, Sage-ready or All details, as Excel or CSV, one statement or many together.
How far back can I get Fifth Third statements online?+
Fifth Third says 24 months of account history. For older statements, ask Fifth Third and upload the PDFs you receive; scanned copies convert too.
Can I convert Fifth Third credit card statements?+
Yes. Upload them to the same page. A card is proven as previous balance plus charges minus payments equals the new balance; see credit card statement to Excel.
Does ZeraBooks keep Fifth Third check numbers?+
Yes. The All details format has a Check Number column for every check paid.
Does ZeraBooks connect to Fifth Third?+
No. ZeraBooks has no bank feeds and never asks for your Fifth Third sign-in. You download the PDF and upload it.
How much does it cost to convert two years of statements?+
Twenty-four monthly statements are usually well under the 1,000 pages a month in the ZeraBooks subscription, which is $79 a month billed annually or $149 monthly, after a 7-day trial. See ZeraBooks pricing.
Damin founded ZeraBooks in 2025 and still talks to the bookkeepers, firms and owners who use it every week. He writes about what he sees in their statements and ledgers, and every page here is checked against the live product before it goes up.
