Converting Documents

Upload statements, checks, invoices and other documents, and check what ZeraBooks read.

Statements

Statements:

Upload documents

Upload PDFs of statements, checks, invoices and other documents on each document page. Each one is recognized, filed on its own page, read line by line and checked against its own totals.

Statements:

Bank and credit card statements

The Bank & Credit Cards page lists every statement by bank and card, splits the transactions by account and cardholder, checks them against the printed balances and lets you download them, one at a time or several together.

Statements:

How Convert proves a statement

Convert checks every account on a statement against the balances the bank printed, to the cent. Here is what the proof checks and what Proven and Needs a look mean.

Statements:

Fix a statement

When a statement doesn't add up, correct a misread row, move a transaction to the right account, add a line that was missed or remove one that isn't on the statement. The proof is checked again every time you save.

Statements:

When a document can't be read

What to do when a document shows Couldn't read, or reading stopped part way: upload the PDF again, or a clearer copy. Pages that couldn't be read never count.

Other documents

Other documents:

Checks

The Checks page reads each written check's number, date, payee, memo and amount, and proves the amount in figures against the amount written in words.

Other documents:

Invoices

The Invoices page reads every invoice in a PDF, line by line, and proves the lines against the subtotal, the total and the amount due.

Other documents:

Investment statements

The Investments page reads brokerage and retirement statements: account values, holdings and cash activity, each proven against the statement's own figures.

Other documents:

Financial statements

The Financial Statements page reads profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements line by line, and checks every total against the lines it adds up.
