Billing

The Billing page shows your Convert plan, its price and status, the pages used this period, and lets you change plan or open Manage billing for your card, invoices and cancelling.

Open Billing

  1. Click ZeraBooks Convert at the top of the sidebar to open the menu.

  2. Click Billing.

Billing opens as a page of its own, like any other Convert page. Old links to Convert's settings now open Billing.

Your plan

The Your plan card sums up your subscription:

  • The plan's name, for example ZeraBooks 2,500, with its price: "$249 a month", or on yearly billing "$2,148 a year ($179/month)".

  • A status on the right:

StatusWhat it means
Active · renews {date}Your subscription is running.
Free trial · ends {date}You're in your 7-day free trial.
Payment due — update your card in Manage billingYour last payment failed. New uploads wait until your card is updated.
Cancelled · ends {date}You cancelled in Manage billing. You can keep converting until that date and won't be charged again. Click Turn it back on to keep your plan. Plan changes come back once it's turned back on.

Managed by ZeraBooksAn Enterprise contract.
  • Pages this month (or Pages this year on yearly billing, or Pages in your free trial): "420 of 1,000 · 580 left", with a bar that turns orange at 80% and a deeper orange at 100%. The note under it says when a new month (or year) of pages starts, and that only completed conversions count: "a document that can't be read never uses pages, and a document already reading always finishes." During the trial it reads "Your free trial includes 1,000 pages. Your plan's full allowance opens when it starts on {date}."

The card also shows, when they apply:

  • from 80% of your pages: "You've used {x}% of your pages this month. Move up now and nothing has to wait.", with a Get more pages button (Start your plan now during the trial);

  • the reason uploads are waiting, for example "You've used your 1,000 pages for this month. Move to ZeraBooks 2,500 to keep converting.", with the same button. It opens the Get more pages dialog. See Plans and pages;

  • during the free trial: "Need more than the trial's pages? Start your plan today and its full allowance opens at once.", with Start my plan now;

  • a change scheduled for your renewal, "Changes to {plan} · monthly on {date}. Until then nothing changes.", with Keep my current plan to cancel it;

  • Start your 7-day free trial, or Restart your subscription if it ended ("Everything you converted is still here to download.");

  • for an Enterprise contract: "Your plan is a ZeraBooks contract. To change pages or billing, contact your ZeraBooks representative."

Change plan

The Change plan card lists the three plans, with Monthly or Yearly · save up to 47% at the top right. When you're close to your pages, the next plan is marked Recommended. Click a plan, read the price preview and click Confirm. See Change your plan.

Manage billing

Click Manage billing in the page header, or in the line at the bottom of the page, to open Stripe's secure billing portal. It reads Opening… while the portal loads. There you can update your card, download invoices or cancel. Cancelling keeps everything until the end of the period you've paid for. When you return, you land back on Billing, with your plan read afresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Convert's settings?

Convert has no separate settings. Everything about your plan is on Billing: open the menu at the top of the sidebar (click ZeraBooks Convert) and click Billing.

Can I change how my downloads look on Billing?

No. Downloads use ready-made formats, and you choose one when you download. See Choose a download format.

Why don't I see the Change plan card?

Your plan isn't one that can be changed here: an original unlimited plan, an Enterprise contract, a payment that's due, or no subscription. The Your plan card says what applies to you.

Why is there no Manage billing button?

Your account has no Stripe subscription to manage, for example an Enterprise contract, a complimentary account, or no subscription yet.
