# Download your Truist statements

Where to find Truist business checking and card statements and how to get them into ZeraBooks as PDFs.

## Download a statement

Truist keeps statements in the documents area of online banking.

1. Sign in at truist.com on a computer.
2. Choose the account.
3. Open "Documents" and choose the statement month.
4. Download the statement as a PDF.
5. In ZeraBooks, click **Banks & Cards** › **Upload statement**, choose the matching account and upload the file. See [Upload a bank or card statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/upload-a-statement).

## How far back you can go

Which statements Truist shows online depends on the account. If a month is missing, ask Truist for it.

## PDF or CSV

Download the **PDF** statement. ZeraBooks reads the printed opening and closing balances from it and uses them to prove the month is complete. See [How ZeraBooks proves a statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/how-zerabooks-proves-a-statement).

Truist also lets you download recent account history (up to 18 months). A CSV works in ZeraBooks too, but it usually has no opening or closing balance. After you upload one, enter both balances exactly as printed on the statement with **Fix statement details…** in Reconciliations. See [Fix a month that doesn't tie](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/reconciliations/fix-a-month-that-doesnt-tie).

Only need the transactions in a spreadsheet? Once you have the Truist PDF, convert it to Excel or CSV with the ZeraBooks [bank statement converter](/bank-statement-converter).

**Important:** Former BB&T and SunTrust customers may use a different Truist sign-in or menu. Sign in where you normally bank; the statements are in its documents area.
{% endhint %}

## Frequently Asked Questions

<details>
<summary>My account was at BB&T or SunTrust. Where are the old statements?</summary>

Truist holds them. Look in "Documents" for the account, or ask Truist for months it doesn't show.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Where are my Truist card statements?</summary>

Open the card account, then its statements or documents. Upload them into a credit card account in ZeraBooks.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Can ZeraBooks connect to my Truist account directly?</summary>

No. ZeraBooks has no bank feeds and never asks for your Truist sign-in. Download each statement and upload it.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Which statements should I download?</summary>

Every month from the date your books start, for every account, oldest first. Upload one account's statement per file: each statement's opening balance is checked against the previous month's closing balance. See [Upload a bank or card statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/upload-a-statement).
