# Download your Relay statements

Where to find Relay checking and card statements and how to get them into ZeraBooks as PDFs.

## Download a statement

Relay keeps statements under each account in the web app.

1. Sign in to Relay on a computer.
2. Open the "Accounts" tab, then "Statements".
3. Select the months, click "Export", then "Download statements".
4. Choose PDF and the account.
5. In ZeraBooks, click **Banks & Cards** › **Upload statement**, choose the matching account and upload the file. See [Upload a bank or card statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/upload-a-statement).

### Relay card

1. Open the card account from the "Accounts" tab, then "Statements".
2. Select the billing cycle and click the download icon.
3. Upload it into a credit card account in ZeraBooks.

## How far back you can go

Relay keeps your checking statements online. Card statements appear the day after each billing cycle closes.

## PDF or CSV

Download the **PDF** statement. ZeraBooks reads the printed opening and closing balances from it and uses them to prove the month is complete. See [How ZeraBooks proves a statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/how-zerabooks-proves-a-statement).

Relay's export also offers CSV and OFX. A CSV works in ZeraBooks too, but it usually has no opening or closing balance. After you upload one, enter both balances exactly as printed on the statement with **Fix statement details…** in Reconciliations. See [Fix a month that doesn't tie](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/reconciliations/fix-a-month-that-doesnt-tie).

Only need the transactions in a spreadsheet? Once you have the Relay PDF, convert it to Excel or CSV with the ZeraBooks [bank statement converter](/bank-statement-converter).

**Important:** Each Relay account has its own statement. Choose the right account when you export, and upload each into its own account in ZeraBooks.
{% endhint %}

The first card statement appears the day after its first billing cycle closes.
</details>

Yes, one per account each month. Add each Relay account in ZeraBooks and upload its statements into it.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Can ZeraBooks connect to my Relay account directly?</summary>

No. ZeraBooks has no bank feeds and never asks for your Relay sign-in. Download each statement and upload it.
</details>

<details>
<summary>Which statements should I download?</summary>

Every month from the date your books start, for every account, oldest first.
