# Download your Mercury statements

Where to find Mercury monthly statements and how to get them into ZeraBooks as PDFs.

## Download a statement

Mercury keeps statements in its documents area, one account at a time.

1. Sign in to Mercury on a computer.
2. Click your company name at the top left and open "Documents & Data".
3. Choose the account from the dropdown.
4. Find the month and download the PDF.
5. In ZeraBooks, click **Banks & Cards** › **Upload statement**, choose the matching account and upload the file. See [Upload a bank or card statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/upload-a-statement).

## How far back you can go

Mercury posts each monthly statement in the first few days of the next month.

## PDF or CSV

Download the **PDF** statement. ZeraBooks reads the printed opening and closing balances from it and uses them to prove the month is complete. See [How ZeraBooks proves a statement](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/banks-and-cards/how-zerabooks-proves-a-statement).

Mercury also offers CSV exports from the statement row's menu and from the transactions page. A CSV works in ZeraBooks too, but it usually has no opening or closing balance. After you upload one, enter both balances exactly as printed on the statement with **Fix statement details…** in Reconciliations. See [Fix a month that doesn't tie](https://www.zerabooks.com/help/reconciliations/fix-a-month-that-doesnt-tie).

Only need the transactions in a spreadsheet? Once you have the Mercury PDF, convert it to Excel or CSV with the ZeraBooks [bank statement converter](/bank-statement-converter).

**Important:** Statements are per account. Choose the right account in the dropdown, and upload each into its own matching account in ZeraBooks.
{% endhint %}

Which statements should I download?

Every month from the date your books start, for every account, oldest first.
